Creating BrightER Futures for DMU Students

ER Recruitment are delighted to be working in partnership with DMU to deliver our BrightER Futures programme!

BrightER Futures is a 12-month programme that will see 20 students introduced into Leicester’s vibrant business community and helped to gain professional skills including networking, business communication and understanding the commercial heart of the city.

As leaders within recruitment, we recognise that despite having academic qualifications, some graduates find difficulty in securing employment which is related to their studies, and as a result often end up applying for and accepting positions in entirely different fields in order to secure a job.

At ER Recruitment, we are fortunate enough to have a range of high calibre clients and contacts within the business community and therefore were keen to utilise these relationships in order to support our students and ultimately retain their talent within our city.

Discussing the project, our MD Eileen stated:

“Graduates offer huge potential talent for our city and I’m very excited to announce that ER is taking this new focus on supporting graduates’ early careers. Each of these students possess energy and vision which they will inject into their partnered organisations. We have some fantastic local, regional and national businesses on board who are giving their time to provide industry experience which will complement the students’ academic achievements and assist them in securing full time employment after graduating”.

Taking a lead on the project alongside DMU’s employment team, our Marketing Exec Scarlett said “I am incredibly excited to be working on the BrightER Futures programme, each of the 20 students have their own unique talents, personalities and ambitions and I am looking forward to supporting them as they enter the business world. As a fellow DMU graduate, I feel that this programme is an incredible opportunity and the experience and skills it will provide to the students is completely invaluable.”

Businesses involved in the scheme organised through DMU and ER Recruitment consist of:

Breedon Consulting, Corporate Architecture, Brewin Dolphin, Cross Productions, East Midlands Chamber, ER Recruitment, Everards, Flogas, Freeths, Happy Pet Products, Hinckley & Rugby Building Society, Johnson Astills, Juice Creative, Mark J Rees, Michael Switchgear, Mocha Marketing, Nelsons, Pick Everard, PPL PRS and RSM.

Students will be matched to an employer to learn key skills, enhance their talents and inject new and creative ideas. The opportunity will provide the selected students with an invaluable insight into business and help to shape their future prospects whilst also giving them the resources they need to thrive within a competitive market.
