We’re officially midway through December and with just 10 days to go until Christmas, we take a look back on 2018 and what the next year has to hold for the Eileen Richards Recruitment team!
For us, December has been much like the other months this year – incredibly busy with multiple exclusive events attended including the Hope Through Business Lunch, the Lumber’s Jewellers White Christmas event and not forgetting the annual East Midlands Chamber Christmas lunch in which Eileen sits on the board.
2018 is going to be hard to beat with our MD Eileen Richards being awarded an MBE for the Promotion of Female Entrepreneurship and announced as the winner of ‘Business Woman of the Year’ in both the Niche Biz Awards and the Leicester Mercury Women in Business Awards! The success didn’t stop there though with many of the team achieving prominent highlights in their career including our Resourcer Tracey Brown celebrating 5 years as an integral part of Team ER, Brand & Marketing Exec Scarlett obtaining a First Class Honours Degree in Advertising & Marketing and finally our many of specialists being promoted to head up their own individual sectors!
As an organisation who pride ourselves on being and supporting local, we are glad to have been part of many events throughout our local society and business community which have seen us hosting an event at the Leicester Business Festival, becoming a committee member for Network LE, a partner for the Leicester Comedy Festival and involved in multiple fundraising initiatives including an abseil, a challenge in the wild and Christmas jumper selling all for Hope Against Cancer!
As the New Year draws closer we are looking forward to what’s to come, for both us as a business and for the recruitment industry as a whole. Our 2019 calendar is bursting already with lots of exciting events scheduled for the New Year; however we are particularly looking forward to being a Co-Host for the Enterprising Women Awards for an additional year and a partner of the Leicester Mercury Business awards which empower and reward local businesses and professionals.
With focus firmly set on 2019, the Eileen Richards team are delighted to be recruiting for additional members to join our vibrant team including an Executive Search and Selection Specialist, Accountancy and Finance Specialist and a Sales & Marketing Specialist due to continued growth across these sectors.
As experts within recruitment, we have witnessed multiple trends within our sector; however one of the most notable things going forward into next year is the ‘Skill VS Will’ model, which is seeing more and more employers recruiting on aspects such as attitude, values and integrity as opposed to qualifications – as Simon Sinek puts it ‘you don’t hire for skills, you hire for attitude. You can always teach skills’. We expect that with many firms finding difficulty in recruiting the right people, hiring managers will continue to be more flexible with their job specifications and remain open to training within rather than making experience essential.
