With over 12 years working within the recruitment industry, filtering through applications has become a natural part of my daily routine. Whether it’s 6am in the morning, a Saturday afternoon or 9pm at night, it’s hard to fight the temptation of checking my inbox knowing that the perfect application might be sitting there just waiting to be read!
Whilst I consider myself a master at reading through applications and matching candidates to the ideal opportunity, being on the other side of the process threw me completely out of my comfort zone!
You see, today is the deadline for school applications and I cannot even begin to express to you the amount of sleepless nights, endless conversations and last minute panic that has gone into the decision of where to send our eldest child to primary school.
A school application is huge, it determines your child’s future, the type of education they will receive, the feeder schools on option to them and of course the potential lifelong friends they will make. When tailoring each application to the different schools, it made me consider the thought that goes into each job application I receive too.
