ER Recruitment have partnered with De Montfort University to offer 20 students work experience with locally leading Leicester businesses to increase their employability and ultimately retain top talent within the region.

The BrightER Futures project involves each student being uniquely matched to a business in order to build upon their commercial awareness, employability skills and business acumen. The programme has successfully ran throughout 2020, 2021, 2022 and now 2023 with the students praising the programme for positively impacting their success in securing work after graduating.

Businesses who supported the initiative consist of a variety of both large firms and SME's with a mutual goal to support our emerging business leaders. 1284, Breedon Consulting, Cross Productions, East Midlands Chamber, ER Recruitment, Fraser Stretton Property Group, Furnely House, Happy Pet Products, , Juice Creative, Mattioli Woods, Michael Switchgear, Nelsons, Paradigm Wills & Legal, Pick Everard, PPL PRS and QURE  are all businesses who are supporting in 2023.

"The programme had different ways of helping me with entering life after graduation, as it was not solely based on how to apply for jobs but events based on key life and career skills to help plan correctly for your future. I found that this range of support was very useful and appreciated."

I have to say now with all the skills and knowledge I have acquired on what it is like to work in a professional environment, I have never felt more confident to take on the world of work, and without the BrightER Futures programme and the wide range of different events that I took part in as part of the programme. I don't believe I would feel this confident or prepared to begin my career."

In November 2022, the BrightER Futures programme was awarded the winner for the Excellence in Collaboration Award at the East Midlands Chamber of Commerce Awards. The award recognised the successful partnership between DMU and ER Recruitment to retain top talent in Leicestershire.
