ER Recruitment Turns 9!

It’s our birthday and today we’re celebrating 9 years of Team ER! Throughout the last 9 years, there isn’t much that as a recruitment consultancy we haven’t experienced. Like most businesses, we’ve witnessed many highs, some occasional lows but most importantly we’ve had a lot of fun along the way.

Over the years our image, content and services may have transformed, but our DNA remains unaltered. When setting up the business 9 years ago, before DNA was even part of our strapline, our MD Eileen identified 2 strands to ER Recruitment, both with the aim to make a positive influence: business and community. To this day, much like the double helix, these two strands remain the structure to our vision, values, and sense of purpose, which is embedded throughout our entire process and embraced in our culture – we believe it’s these that make our team so special and great at what they do.

Much like salt and pepper, fish and chips and Minnie and Mickey – for us, business and community are a pairing which we live and breathe day to day. We have the pleasure of working alongside industry leading organisations, talented candidates, supportive partners, inspirational charities, and engaging initiatives all within our diverse community.

Although just like human genetics our DNA will never change, we are proud of our ability as a brand to innovate, adapt and evolve to support the individual needs of our clients, candidates, and communities. Throughout our 9th year, we’ve both formed and strengthened exclusive recruitment partnerships with a wide range of clients which enables us to retain, recruit and onboard across all roles from entry level to C-Suite due to truly understanding their own unique brand DNA and business needs. Our partnership with Breedon Consulting has enabled us to take this further by offering a combined recruitment and HR service to provide expert advice for all our client’s employee requirements.

Much like our preceding birthdays, each new year gives us the opportunity to reflect on the last, and it’s always incredible to celebrate the impact that we have had on people’s lives both within business and the community. Our team never fail to appreciate the feeling of placing a candidate into their dream role or filling a difficult vacancy on behalf of a great firm and year 8 for us was another brilliant year of connecting people, business, and opportunities.

Outside of the day to day, it’s been another busy and exciting year. Following on from our MD Eileen’s Presidential Year last year, she has been more recently appointed as a Deputy Lord Lieutenant of Leicestershire and Vice-Chair for Hope Against Cancer. These positions are alongside her existing roles as Co-Chair of Enterprising Women who are celebrating 25 years this September and as Pro-Chancellor for De Montfort University who we have built a strong partnership and have delivered initiatives in conjunction with including our BrightER Futures Programme.

Making a difference is close to our hearts and this year we’ve been able to save and prolong lives through our #BleedForHayley campaign, raise funds for our chosen charities Hope Against Cancer and Wooden Spoon, be partners of various charity networks including Menphys Sports Club, Bodie Hodges Business Club and Friends of the Fox charity in connection with Leicestershire Children’s Hospital - all alongside growing our own business in success and self-development.

Our commitment to the community hasn’t gone unnoticed and we are delighted to have been shortlisted for this award in the East Midlands Chamber Leicestershire Business Awards 2022. This recognition is a testament to our team and their passion to go above and beyond to make a difference.

So, what does the year ahead hold for Team ER? As a business of course we are conscious of increasing prices and a pending recession and the impact that will have on our candidates, clients, and community. However, we are certain that the requirement to continue recruiting will be at the forefront of many businesses and talent will be in high demand. As a business who continues to strive forward, we have implemented a new service for our partners identifying their DNA, this tool focuses on a business’s ability to promote themselves as an employer of choice and consequently attract and retain the best in the market. In connection to growth, the ER team have welcomed the talented Laura Jane and are going to be looking for additional bright, ambitious professionals to join our vibrant team and become #PartOfOurDNA.

Aside to our business goals, we’ll be maintaining our commitment to the community and our team’s involvement within it. Our MD Eileen has a line-up of exciting responsibilities, Brand & Marketing Exec Scarlett will continue to inject her passion on the Board of Generation Next, Recruitment Specialist Laura will maintain her brilliant work as a Committee Member for Network LE and our Office Manager Sarah is thrilled to be sitting on the committee for the Midlands PA Network – just to name a few of our activities!

Year 9 is an exciting one for us, we already have a lot of brilliant things in the pipeline connected to both business and the community and it’s only just begun. As we celebrate another year of business, team success and our supportive clients, candidates, and connections we’re looking forward to the year ahead and the opportunities that the year ahead brings!
